Putting It To Good Use

One of the things God told me quite clearly a number of years ago concerning one of my gifts was "Use it or lose it." Would God actually say something so severe? You'd better believe it. I don't know about you, but sometimes I need something said to me in no uncertain terms so that I will grasp it and run with it.

I decided to grasp and run, and have enjoyed some serious success in this area, especially about two and a bit years ago when my gifting was "called to question" again. How serious was I? How bad did I want to pursue this and be used by God?

Pretty bad. Quite bad. Reeeaalllllllly death-deyingly badly, in fact. So I am pursuing.

As a matter of following this pursuit, I signed up for several quality email subscriptions only to realise many of them are on repeat. How do I know this? They built up in my inbox and today it was time to sift the chaff from the wheat. It's also good for seeing which emails are in agreement, which are simply selling something, and which come from left field and are of very little good to me whatsoever.

Some emails were a bit more challenging, while others offered seats to hear people speak on topics I just read about in emails I just deleted.

For me, 2012 is about being decisive, but also about avoiding distractions. Someone asked me recently why I don't blog more frequently. Well, I believe in quality, not quantity (that's for sure), but I also don't want to be the last word on someone's life. I like to choose what I'm going to say and everyday life determines the importance of when and what to say.

What say you? How do you decide what will take your time and what will waste it? Can you cut out something that is a distraction in order to be come more productive in the area of one of your greatest gifts?

It's worth thinking about, and hopefully acting on.

“He replied, ‘I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given, but as for the one who has nothing, even what they have will be taken away." Luke 19v26

Eh bien, je vous le déclare, à celui qui a, on donnera encore, mais à celui qui n'a pas, on ôtera même ce qu'il a.
